As part of “European Biotechnology Week” Tekna Biotech welcomes you to our seminar on biotechnological solutions to challenges in aquaculture.
Food security is one of the biggest global challenges we face. Norway and other coastal nations are investing heavily in promotion and development of aquaculture, and are planning a strong increase in production – primarily of salmon in Norway’s case.
It is possible to increase production within aquaculture, but this presents new challenges and a need for new knowledge regarding both animal feed, combating diseases and parasites, survival rates of juveniles, as well as closed containment fish farming.
Researchers from NTNU and SINTEF presents the latest developments within field, using examples from their own research.
