The seminar was held in Helsinki and brought together almost 80 representatives from companies, state management and research institutes. Presentations were given by Neste Oil, DuPont, Kiilto, Forchem and FIBIC, the Finnish Bioeconomy Cluster. The Federation published results from the bioeconomy survey carried out in its member companies, and the seminar ended in a lively discussion on the actions needed to further develop the bioeconomy.
The important messages were that multisectoral co-operation is crucial and that the use of biobased raw materials and biotechnology in the chemical industry has increased and will further increase in the near future.
