Organised by Cuatrecasas in collaboration with ASEBIO on 26 September, this information day put the emphasis on knowledge and essential relationships for advancing the commercialisation of technology, trade negotiations, research collaborations, licensing and IP. Technology is becoming increasingly important for all companies, increasing productivity and making them more competitive. In the legal sector, a key objective is to give new technologies sufficient protection. Intellectual and industrial property, know-how and trade secrets are some of the ways to protect information. When negotiating a technology transfer agreement with a third party, it is important to take several steps to provide legal certainty. This begins with preliminary discussions, after which legal documents (eg NDA, letter of intent or memorandum of understanding) must be drafted before signing the agreement. Professionals of Cuatrecasas and a representative of Oryzon gave their vision of this subject.
