Location: Life Science Institute, Green Amphitheatre
9 – 11 October, 2014
Contact person: Mirela Irina Cordea – email: mcordea@usamvcluj.ro
The “European Biotechnology Days” will be a “teaching activity” of EBTNA, with the major aim to give to the students (following undergraduate and Master courses on Biotechnology or related topics) a general overview of the present state of European Biotechnology, in its different fields. Attendance of the students to the lectures will be, of course, free.
The participants should send to the contact person at USAMV Cluj-Napoca the title of his/her proposed lecture, not later than 15 July 2014, which will be used to prepare a preliminary programme of the series of lectures. Later-on they will be asked to submit an abstract of their talks, following the instructions which will be provided. Abstract submission deadline: 30 July 2014.
The speakers should prepare a ~ 50 min lecture (to leave 5 – 10 min for discussion after each talk) on his/her selected topic. Considering the target audience, we would like to suggest that each talk focuses on a review of the current state and applications of a particular biotechnology, and that is not too specialised.
The organisers have no possibility to support economically the speakers coming to Cluj, but most EBTNA members can use the Erasmus mobility programme for teaching staff to get reimbursement of their travel and accommodation expenses. However, a previous bilateral Erasmus agreement between your University and USAMV Cluj-Napoca is required. Please, ask the International Relations (or Erasmus) Office of your Institution if this agreement already exists; if not, please contact Mirela Cordea (mcordea@usamvcluj.ro) to start the paperwork to arrange the establishment of such agreement.
Additional information on the organisation of the meeting will follow in due time. As for now, we look forward to receive the titles of your lectures, and hope to welcome you all in Cluj-Napoca in October.
