On September 27, research engineers of the NEOMA Business School Chair in Industrial Bioeconomy held a presentation of their work on the campus in Reims. The first project looked at the impact of fossil fuel prices (oil and gas) on the competitiveness of biobased products (from agricultural and forest biomass), including biofuels of different generations, between now and 2050. The second analysed the impact of plant-based products on the cosmetics market and considered key socio-demographic megatrends (ageing population, urbanisation, pollution and the development of new markets such as men’s care). Finally, the third project looked at the world market for plant-based proteins and explored alternatives such as alfalfa that could help meet the shortage of animal-based protein for human consumption forecast for 2050. @neomabs
