Robotic surgery was born and developed over the last 20 years in order to get better results and benefits than the minimally invasive video-assisted surgery, thus improving and simplifying the surgeon’s work. Using electronic procedures, the intervention takes place with tools similar to those used in laparoscopy, but it is performed by a surgeon who, placed at a distance of the operating table, uses a special console equipped with a monitor, from which he is able to handle the tools inserted inside the patient and have a three-dimensional view of the operating field. This new biotechnology has provided excellent results in almost all surgical branches, especially in urology, gynecology, general surgery and cardiac surgery. The purpose of the event, aimed at high school (2nd degree) and university students, is to introduce young people to such biotechnologies and show them their multiple uses. In fact, the principles of this method and the fields of application will be explained and finally it will be possible to see such equipment in operation.
