Professor Pentti Huovinen opened the seminar telling how microbes are linked, not only to disease like type 1 and 2 diabetes and inflammatory bowel diseases, but also how they effect brain functioning.

Following on from the presentations experts in nutrition, genetics, immunology, oral health, endocrinology, diagnostics, drug development, bioinformatics as well as clinical medicine gave advice to the audience members.
