Drugs for advanced therapies include all therapeutic interventions of new generation defined as: genetic therapy, cellular therapy and tissue therapy. These drugs therefore are medicines, since they present particular features which proved effective in curing several pathologies. The advanced therapies already represent, in many cases, the only chance to treat relevant and widespread pathologies, like anaemia, cystic fibrosis and many cancer forms. Important developments in the future are predicted, especially in the research of treatments focused to cure many cancer forms. This renders these drugs very interesting for the biotech industry. However, it is necessary to immediately solve normative criticalties so as to create a regulatory environment, stable and homogeneous, conscious of the peculiarities of such advanced therapies. Above all, it is fundamental to allow patients to rapidly gain access to new therapeutic opportunities.
